The Challenge

The Sport Industry Group were keen to update their sleek yet manual based event hosting operation for the BT Sport Industry Awards 2017, the largest and most acclaimed celebration of the UK sport industry by using digital technology that could assist them to:

  • Find operational efficiencies
  • Reliably  collect and manage guest details
  • Gain data based insight about guests behaviour

The event hosted 1,700 attendees and had a complex tickets and attendees structure.

The Solution

Active delivered a sophisticated yet easy to use solution that allowed the client to manage all aspects of ticket allocation and  to monitor redemption and attendance. The solution is made up of 3 distinct components:

  • A Mobile Ticket App
  • A Box Office
  • Mobile Tickets Scanner/ Access Management

The Outcome

Based on their knowledge of their audience, the Sport Industry Group hoped to achieve a 10% adoption rate on the first year of introducing the technology to their awards event. Active was able to achieve 51% of attendees downloading and adopting the app. This translates to 410% above set target by BTSIA.

We were delighted with the adoption rate of the app by the guests and we are confident that the app will continue to deliver even more in the years to come.
