Active welcomed 2017 by hosting a global company convention on the 24th and 25th of January. The global convention set-out to mould the year ahead, promising a year of exponential growth for the company. Located in Covent Garden, London, the convention comprised of all Active members: board directors, international sales representatives, key partners, and production and development teams.
Over the two days Active revealed its vision and roadmap for 2017 and celebrated successes, sharing valuable learnings from the previous year. Active also revealed details of strategic partnerships and technical developments for 2017. The executive team identified key industry segments and divulged plans on how to target these industries.
The development and production teams provided greater insight to Active’s core product Stikit by showcasing the new Stikit suite: Stikit Core, a box office solution for venues, promoters, and teams; Stikit Enterprise, a box office solution with access control; and Stikit Network, a middleware stack allowing mobile network operators to aggregate their inventory.
Lee Booth, CEO, hosted a panel discussion, inviting event and ticketing experts with myriad experience and skills: Jessica Koravos, President of The Really Useful Group, and an authority in the showbiz industry; Brian Message, Founder of ATC Management and veteran of the live music industry; and Khalid Basyuni, Director of Events & Sponsorship EMEA, MP & Silva, an expert in the sports industry.
The panel pinpointed the challenges within events and ticketing industries, and highlighted the opportunities for an innovative, mobile-first technology to disrupt and dominate the market. Group based workshops and debates also formed the basis of the convention, prompting an exchange of knowledge, and precipitating useful discussions and ideas.

To conclude the global company convention, Active organised a high-energy, spirited party. 1920s themed, the team banded together in glitz and glamour to celebrate, and welcome, a year of growth.
